NEWS | Sarah Bezan joins BIOSEC

Sarah joins us as a Research Associate working on human-animal relations and the cultural understandings of species biodiversity.

We are very pleased to announce that Dr Sarah Bezan has joined the BIOSEC project as a Research Associate. Sarah will be working with us for three months, carrying out research and literature reviews on human-animal relations and the cultural understandings of species biodiversity.

Sarah has expertise in the emerging field of extinction studies, which examines the entangled ecological and social dimensions of species loss. In addition to her work in this area, Sarah is a literary animal studies scholar affiliated with The University of Sheffield Animal Studies Research Centre (ShARC), where she is a former British Academy Newton International Fellow (2018-2020) and Honorary Research Fellow (2020-2023). She holds a PhD in Literature (2017) from The University of Alberta, Canada.
